We leverage community resources, create innovative teaching models, and partner with public and private organizations to advance our mission.

• We enhance student motivation and learning by providing critical resources, including student mentors and tutors.
• Our leverage comes from strategic relationships with publishers and other 501(c)(3) foundations through which we are able to acquire hundreds of thousands of books for children and their families at low cost, distribute these books throughout the United States, and network our not-for-profit partners with committed members from the for-profit community.
• The cost of our operations has been entirely underwritten by a private donor, enabling the contributions from others to apply directly to our programs and services.
• We create innovative teaching models through the insight and experience of leaders in the educational sector that have used such strategies and techniques to overcome the impediments to learning in our most disadvantaged communities.
• We advance teacher effectiveness through essential and unmet professional development.
