Rosi Pedersen, Program Administrator, Molina Foundation

Rosi Pedersen

After over 40 years in education, Ms. Pedersen retired from full time site work at Long Beach Unified School District in order to work for the Molina Foundation. She has taught every grade from first through high school. The last fifteen years were spent out of the classroom as a specialist in central office and in administration. Her site experiences include vice principal at an elementary school, assistant principal at an adult school, and finally as the program administrator/principal at the adult school and the continuation high school

Ms. Pedersen worked as a specialist for ELL learners at both the middle school and high school levels. In addition to being a specialist she was a facilitator for the Language Development Specialist (LDS)credential and was one of the first to receive this credential from the State. She helped develop the LDS training program for the teachers and administrators in the district.

As the Mentor Coordinator for LBUSD she facilitated the Middle School Reform effort and coordinated the professional development training for the teachers in the district.

Ms. Pedersen has provided the leadership for two very successful programs for children and parents that were awarded the Golden Bell ( highest award for innovative programs) from the California School Boards Association.; the Summer Enrichment Program and the Community Based English Tutoring Program (CBET)
