Every once in awhile you read a book that you just can’t put down. I call these “just one more chapter” books because I always say I’m going to read until the end of the chapter, and then put it down and go do something else (sleep, eat, go to work – the other necessities in life besides reading!) Then I find a book that I just can’t put down. I come to the end of the chapter, and the writer has skillfully put a plot twist or teaser that makes me start the next chapter, then the next….or the content is so emotionally moving that I just can’t separate myself from the story. Have you ever read a book that you just can’t put down? Ever look at the clock and realize it’s 2:00 a.m. and you know you should have put the book down hours ago – but couldn’t? I’ve had books like that – just to name a few: As a child: As a more mature reader: A quick poll at Book Buddies revealed these favorites of our staff: So what is your favorite? Who is the best author for writing real page turners? James Patterson, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Patricia Cornwell, Sue Grafton? We want to hear your vote! Email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and tell us your favorite book. I’ll take results until Labor Day and then post a list of everyone’s favorites on Wednesday, September 9th so email me now and let us know your favorite “Book I just couldn’t put down” Happy Reading! |
