love1One of my favorite children’s books is, “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch.

It is a touching story of a baby boy and his mother, and her love for her son that never waivers, even when he is mischievous.  She always says to him, “I’ll love you forever; I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be”

I love the cover of this book – an impish young boy unraveling a roll of toilet paper.  Not having children myself, but alove2 Mommy to two cats, I haven’t had that experience of unconditional love as often as parents of toddlers, but yesterday I did experience a little “love you forever”

It seems I forgot to close the bathroom door yesterday when I left for work.  Tawny, our curious kitty (also known as the instigator) had a field day with a fresh roll of toilet paper that I had just put in our downstairs bathroom.

love3When I came home last night, the roll had been completely unwound and had magically made its way up the stairs, through the living room, and up and over the recliner chair in the den.  Tawny was innocently lying on the couch, quite pleased with herself.  Lizzy, our normally docile kitty, was quite adamant with her meows – insisting that, “it wasn’t me that did this mischief!”

After a good laugh, and taking several pictures, I cleaned up the trail of destruction, closed the bathroom door, and gave Tawny a kiss on the top of her head.  I know we will love her forever.
