Like most of us, I started this year with a list of resolutions for 2010. On the top of my list – to get fit and lose weight. (Sound familiar?) Eager to get started, I went to Amazon.com to buy some books so I could do my “homework” and start working towards a healthier lifestyle. When you type in “diet” you get a total of 407,304 possible diet related books. Wow – where to start? As I scrolled down the endless possibilities – I realized I would have to narrow down my choices. Did I want to be a Biggest Loser? There are multiple books based on that hit series – including books by top trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, who will help you “Master your Metabolism” Did I want to take advice from a Doctor? Dr. Oz has a book, as does Dr. Atkins, Dr. Colbert, Dr. Gundry, and Dr. Siegal has a “Cookie Diet” that might not be too hard to try. Many celebrities have written how they got their fabulous figures – including Suzanne Somers, Valerie Bertinelli and Kirstie Alley (although I’m not sure if she is currently on or off the diet bandwagon right now) You can even get “Royal” diet advise from Sarah, the Duchess of York in her book “Dining with the Duchess” or you can follow the royal Swedish longevity diet. You can even decide not to keep your resolution and read,” FAT! SO? : Because You Don't Have to Apologize for Your Size by Marilyn Wann or “Fat Chicks Rule!: How To Survive in a Thin-Centric World” by Lara Frater So many books – so many possibilities – I’ll work my way through them as I do my treadmill in the morning – here’s to Happy Reading and a Happy Healthy New Year!
